The Waianae Pillboxes are also called the “Pink Pillboxes” or “Pu’u O Hulu Kai Pillboxes”. Start early, since there is little to no shade aside from the pillboxes. Rather easy to find the trailhead and parking seems to be no problem. Lots of unique structures from WW2 and natural formations of rock and trees.
For the keiki: It is a comfortable babywearing hike with great options for the keiki to enjoy the pillboxes at the top. Obviously there is always a need to keep an eye on children with any hike, especially one of this elevation.
